Bastion Training Academy presents Career Preparation Camps which also counts as our Pre-Selection for the 12-Months Career Development Programme.
Our Career Preparation Camps (Pre-Selection) is an action-packed 3-day adventure in the African bush near Pretoria.
PURPOSE
- As our training is highly specialised, we need to protect our students against people who form part of an international criminal syndicate at all costs.
- To ensure that the applicant meets the corporate and cognitive profiles to cope with our intensive learning programme.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to fulfil our vision and mission, we recruit, rigorously select and intensively train smart students with strong values and a substantial learning ability who meets the following basic requirements:
- Age 18 - 30 years.
- Proof of legal citizenship or in possession of a legal resident permit.
- No criminal record.
- Healthy medical record.
- Achieved a basic level of physical fitness.
- Socially accepted behaviour report of school.
- Pass Pre-Selection.
- Well-spoken in English and/or Afrikaans.
- Recommended by headmaster/ principal and spiritual leader that the applicant comprehends the importance of and constantly displays ethical values.
- School and academic reports must prove that the applicant has dynamic leadership potential and a substantial learning ability.
- No addictive habits, with specific reference to drug addiction and alcoholism.
- Both sexes welcome.
PROGRAMME
Our Career Preparation Camp (Pre-Selection) programme focuses on the following core areas:
Physical Evaluation
All applicants must comply with the following elementary fitness standards:
- Run 2,4km in 13 minutes
- Float on your back for 10 (ten) minutes (without using your hands, arms and legs).
- Swim 50m continuously
- Dive an object out from 2m

WHAT MUST I BRING ALONG FOR THE CAREER PREPARATION CAMP (PRE-SELECTION)?
All applicants are required to report in training clothes and must bring the following to the Career Preparation Camp (Pre-Selection):
- Bible
- Running shoes (2,4km run)
- An old T-shirt and comfortable trousers (i.e. jeans) to swim in
- Change of clothing
- Towel and toiletries
- Notebook, pen (black), pencil, eraser, and ruler.
WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST I BRING FOR THE PRE-SELECTION?
All applicants need to submit the following documentation:
- Bastion Application Form
- Curriculum Vitae of the applicant
- Testimonial of headmaster
- Testimonial of spiritual leader
- Confirmation of physical address
- Certified copy of your passport (if the applicant has one)
- 2 (two) Colour ID photos
- District surgeon’s medical certificate that states that the applicant is able to participate in strenuous physical activities
- Complete personal record from previous employer (if previously employed)
- Proof of all training, courses and accreditations (if any)
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I WAS SELECTED?
Bastion will telephonically contact all applicants who passed the Pre-Selection within 30 (thirty) days after the Pre-Selection. |
